SPINELINES are our unique method of quickly and easily accessing a character's point of view and physicality. If a relatable, real and improvisable character still evades you, don't worry! It’s a process to learn how to shift into them and stay there. However, SPINELINES are a simple and surefire way to make a lot of progress.

A SPINELINE is a character's deepest core philosophy that is unchanging, meaning it is not circumstantial. This allows students to stop trying to make a character out of playing the one-dimensionality of ‘an emotion’ or an accent. They will have access to playing a fully-realized person by understanding what drives them and matters to them.

You’ll be able to stop wondering 'what “would” or “should” my character do?' because you’ll have a GPS system locked into something that tells you.

SPINELINE 1 is our 4-hour introduction to Spinelines and all students must take this workshop before graduating LEVEL 3.
