Holly and her team are experts at bringing improv to companies like yours to spark more joy, camarederie, creativity and a positive, Growth Mindset.

  • Founder, CEO

    Holly Mandel demonstrates a unique blend of expertise as a corporate consultant and trainer, and improvisation instructor and technician.

    She is renowned as the founder of Improvolution ImprovSchool in New York City (2002), an alumna of The Groundlings Theater Main Company, and a respected professor at Pace University in Manhattan. Her distinctive fusion of improvisational skills with cutting-edge business acumen, cultivated through the study of diverse organizational methods, sets her apart in her field.

    Holly’s degree is in both psychology and sociology (UCLA); she has studied organizational development, collective creativity and innovation, leadership development - for women especially - with Integral Philosophy, Holacracy, and Spiral Dynamics and EpiEnergetics, optimizing the way systems operate, communicate & collaborate.

    Holly has extensive experience in the corporate world, working at Disney Pictures, FX Networks, ABC Television and Comedy Central. She was also in advertising as a freelance writer/producer for many years.

    She has created a women’s leadership, confidence and creativity program, Good Girls Aren’t CEOs, presenting at places such as Ogilvy, Skadden, Princeton University, and The Grace Hopper Celebration/AnitaB.org Institute.

    Lastly, and what sets her apart from most corporate educators, is the training and experience she received with the very best in the industry - The Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles. Holly has worked alongside some of the very best comedy performers in television and film today - Will Ferrell, Melissa McCarthy, and Kristen Wiig to name a few.

  • We can come to you, you can come to us, or we can meet virtually over Zoom!

    In-person sessions work best when there is an open space where participants can move freely and stand in a circle. So depending on what type of space your office has, we can help you determine if we come to you or you come to us.

    We can also do sessions virtually with either each different location on a Zoom or each participant on their own personal computer.

    Our studio is in the West Village of NYC right near NYU. We’re located at 115 MacDougal Street in the West Village of NYC. The closest subway is the West 4th Stop.

  • Anywhere from 6-600! It all depends on the format and type of corporate improv workshop you choose. Simply check out session topics here and talk to us about options specific to your needs. Our studio accommodates up to 100 people.

  • Prices are determined by the number of participants, the duration of the session, the type of event, and if it’s a virtual or in-person session.   • Our facilitators are a diverse group of trained improv professionals who come from a wide array of backgrounds— actors, lawyers, IT professionals, university professors, performers and more — so they each bring their unique backgrounds and experiences combined with their training to support your team.

    We train all of our facilitators in our pedagogy of character improv, and they have all studied improv and its rich history. The main tenets of improv involve teaching participants to become more confident, support their partners, and to create collaboratively in an unscripted environment. Just like life. Our facilitators are all well-prepared and appropriately trained to teach improv to your team.

  • While there are many business development options out there, few are able to deliver an experiential-based approach to learning like improv does. Improvisation provides an interactive experience that gets participants using their creativity in ways that you simply can’t get from a PDF or presentation. Participants learn by DOING. Valuable communication and teamwork skills emerge from improv – listening without an agenda, pivoting, taking care of the whole, emotional intelligence and awareness. After learning improv, team members gain confidence using these skills because they’ve practiced and experienced them.
